A worn Path

I enjoyed reading "A Worn Path" although i didn't understand the theme . Its about an elderly African American woman i believe during the 1940's or so traveling a long journey through the wilderness to retrieve medication for her grandson who injured his throat by accidently drinking lye, along the way she meet a friendly young white male.. through the story she recived 10 cents that she later promised would go towards a paper windmil for her grandson. im guessing the charity she recived along the was was some sort of reward for enduring all that traveling for her grandson when in the end she had lost the reason why she traveled in the first place yet continued. Like i said im not really sure on what the theme and purpose of the story was but i still enjoyed it

Story Of an Hour

I loved!!!!! this story, at first it seemed like a very boring short story, but oh man was i wrong. We had discussed in class different literacy elements and Irony was definatly the most used in this story, it was about an un happily married woman that recived the news that her usband was killed in a fatal train accident, then later discovering that it was misunderstanding and that her husband was actually alive & well stood right before her. That being such a shock to her became the death of her, mainly because when she realized how happy her life could be minus him her dreams ended aburptly to see him actually alive, it was such a shock to her she instantly died of an heart attack

Young Goodman Brown

the story young goodman brown was about a young man's battle between good and evil. It had good usage of different literary elements like foreshadowing and a few others. It was quite confusing to read but it was overall a good short story, it had a really tricky twist.
